Karine and with horse showing trust

June is the last month you can join Bonding Time Deep Dive as a standalone course.
From July on, it's gone.

There's something I see again and again with horsewomen.

They work hard. They do their best. They're kind to their horse, they care deeply, they try so many things. But somewhere underneath all of that, they feel like something is missing. Like their horse is there, but the real connection isn't. Like they're standing next to their horse instead of truly being with him.

And so they think they need to train more. Learn better techniques. Work harder on the exercises.

But that's not where it begins.

It begins here.  With Bonding Time.

What is Bonding Time?

Bonding Time is the most fundamental practise of my Liberty Connection Work. It's also the most underestimated.

On the surface it looks simple: you're just hanging out with your horse, doing nothing, sitting together in the field. But in those quiet moments, so much is happening. Your horse is feeling you. Observing you. Deciding whether he trusts you, whether he wants contact with you, whether you're someone he chooses to be with.

How you show up in those moments, how you respond when he gets curious the very first time, when he walks away, when he's pushy, when he lies down close to you, thát shapes everything. It lays the foundation for everything you'll ever want to do together in the future.

Without enough Bonding Time, your relationship with your horse will never reach its full potential. That's not something I believe. It's something I see, over and over again, with horse after horse, woman after woman.

"Something happened today that I still can't really believe. Silver looked up and walked over to me. We stood together for like five minutes, just breathing. This is the horse who never wanted to be close to me unless I had food. And now he chooses to come close. It made me emotional and tears came in my eyes. I didn't think this kind of connection was possible with him."

Who is this for?

For the woman whose horse walks away when she enters the field, when all she wants is to feel close.
For the woman whose horse carries trauma, and who wants to help him find trust again: gently, respectfully, without pressure.
For the woman who's too much in her head when she's with her horse, and who knows she wants to be more present but doesn't know how.
For the woman who already has a bond with her horse, but feels there's a deeper layer still waiting.

What you get

Discover how to become part of your horse's herd, not through food or technique, but through understanding the language of natural connection that horses are born with.
Learn exactly how to respond to whatever your horse does during Bonding Time: whether he's pushy, distant, curious, or tries to drive you away, so that every reaction you give draws him closer instead of pushing him back.
Understand why the "treat trap" undermines real bonding, and how to build a connection that doesn't depend on food or tricks.
Know how to create safety for a horse who has been hurt by humans, by training methods, or by experiences that left a mark, so he can slowly find his way back to trust.
Discover how to spark curiosity in the closed-off horse, and help the anxious or introvert horse find confidence around humans.
Learn how to show up at the field in a way your horse can actually feel - so that he wants to be near you, not because you ask, but because your presence itself feels safe and inviting.
Lay the strongest possible foundation for everything that comes after - Liberty Connection Work, groundwork, riding - so that whatever you build next is built on something real.

Karine Vandenborre - Founder of Horsefulness Training

I've been working professionally with horses for almost 30 years. My method - Horsefulness Training - developed organically over decades of experience, of trying things and learning, of watching closely what actually happens between horse and human.
Liberty Connection Work is at the heart of everything I do. It's communicating and connecting at liberty in the most natural way:  no treats, no tricks, no round pens.  Just open space, a human, and a horse who is free to choose.
I've seen countless traumatized and so-called "difficult" horses transform through this approach. Not because I did something spectacular, but because I learned how to create the space where the horse could take his own step toward connection.
Bonding Time is where all of that begins. And I want to help you lay that same foundation.

"I have practiced bonding time every day since Monday. Yesterday one of the youngsters placed himself right in front of me and started to take a nap. Two others horses decided to lay down a few steps away from me. My own horse was standing ten steps away with another horse and they were sleeping too. I almost could not breathe, in fear of disturbing the horses in this special moment."

"Today was the first time ever that my horse has come running to me in the field. He came running up the hill and then came trotting right up me and put his forehead right into my chest. I highly doubt this amazing moment would have ever happened without your help and guidance. It has truly bonded us in a way I could have never imagined, and this is just the beginning!"

Things You Might Be Wondering About

Can I do this course with a young, untrained, or traumatized horse?

Yes, absolutely. The Bonding Time Deep Dive is designed to help you connect with any horse, whether young, old, unhandled, well-trained, easy going or more challenging. The calm, respectful approach is especially helpful for horses who need time, space, and trust to feel safe. This way of being and bonding with horses has evolved out of my work with traumatized horses, so yes, so especially if your horse suffers from trauma, this is the way to go!

How much time do I need for this course?

The course is short and actionable by design. You can go through the videos in just a few hours, but the true value lies in the time you spend practicing with your horse. Even 10–15 minutes a day can lead to beautiful results.

Do I need a round pen or arena?

No. I advise against working in a round pen. You can do this work in any safe, enclosed area that is big enough and where your horse feels comfortable. A paddock, a riding arena or a pasture is fine, no specialized equipment is required.

Is this course suitable for beginners?

Yes. The course is very accessible, and I guide you step-by-step in a calm and clear way. It’s ideal for horsewomen who are just starting their journey into connection-based work, or for those already more experienced and want to deepen the bond they already have, learn more about this method or are dealing with a challenging horse. You don't need prior experience.

Is the course live or self-paced?

It’s a self-paced course. You can begin whenever you're ready and move through it at your own rhythm. You get lifetime access, so you can revisit the content as often as you like.

What if I have questions during the course?

You’ll be invited to join the private Facebook group where you can ask me questions directly and connect with like-hearted women on the same journey.

Is this a 1-time payment or monthly recurring payments?

There are no monthly recurring payments. This course is a 1-time payment only.

"Yesterday Kodak decided to lie down for a nap in a nice sunny spot.  I walked over to her, and sat down about 10 feet away from her for about 10-15 minutes. I talked to her so she would know I was there, and she flicked her ears towards me, but remained very relaxed, and I could see she was coming in and out of a deep sleep.

My gelding was sleeping standing up on the other side of me, so I was sitting between the two of them, feeling like I was truly part of the herd. It was a wonderful moment, one I never thought I would experience when I first got my spooky, anxious Kodak! The fact that she was completely comfortable lying down and sleeping with me so close by was amazing.
